Who I am

My name is Philipp and I am Resin Munch.

For more than twenty years this hobby haunts me now. I’ve had a few breaks inbetween but I always came back when the hobby has called my name. It’s a place where I can let my imagination flow, to be free and creative and be as grimdark as I want to be.

As a rather introvert and emotional type of person I want to transport my personality through my miniatures and as a perfectionist I want them to be perfect. That means perfect for myself.
Over the years of self-doubt I learned that only this counts. Perfect for myself. Not for anyone else.

Resin Munch is an exploration into the darkness of the Warhammer universe.

And I welcome you to follow me.

My Vision

When I think about Warhammer I think of gigantic hive cities, decadent tradesman and poor and forsaken citizens. Fighting their own war of survival in the endless suburbs and abyssal underworlds. Far away from the glorified tales of Space Marines saving the souls of a thousand planets in the universe. The common citizen has a dismal and disilusional life to live. Some say there is hope, some give their soul to the dark gods.

It’s a daunting vision. Forsaking.

The so called heroes of the imperium of mankind in these days are doing their work in silence. Hidden. Unnoticed by the citizens and their greedy government.

But they’re still doing their work. And these groups of individual characters are the most interesting for me.
A normal person out of the regular population but with special abilities since they were born. Discovered by an Inquisitor and now recruited as a member of the retinue. These storys are the ones I want to tell.

Whether it’s a small warband or a whole army, I want to give my miniatures personality and individuality. Everything surrounded by a forlorn aura.

This is my vision. Grimdark.

The Philosophy

For me this hobby is a neverending path I’m wandering. On this path I learn more about my art and how I create things. And what’s most important to me: I learn about myself.

Every new project is a new chance to grow as an artist, a new chance to try new things, a new chance to dive deeper into the endless oppurtunities this hobby and it’s lore provides.

Be happy and paint whatever and whenever you feel like it.

No pressure anymore.
