A lost king has arrived at the surface of a long forsaken world.

The Scions of Prophecy. A full army with only custom miniatures. This is probably my biggest undertaking to date. But at the same time one of the most rewarding.
Converting and painting were always the biggest part of the hobby for me. But a while ago I had my first tabletop matches and decided I want to explore this part of the hobby too.
Instead of building a force out of the box I decided to merge my passion for converting and the tabletop part to create a full custom army. This will consume a lot of time obviously but I think it’s worth it.
I also wanted to try something new colour wise. Most of my projects are rather muted in colour. A lot of black and metal and bronze. So the plan was to use some colour in this army.
I really like to look at rotten Nurgle armies so I went for a pale green with lots of weathering, corosion and texture. It also fits the background story of the army which I will share in a seperate future post. It’s a pleasure to paint the miniatures and the weathering (which is probably my favourite part of painting) is pure joy.
With this project I wanted to go big. It was the first time I got myself a Primarch and I was impressed when I held the Forge World Mortarion in my hands. All the details and the sheer size. To see a power armour in that scale after years of looking at regular Space Marines were stunning for me.
I also wanted to improve my work on the bases. The focus layed on trying to create different coloured debris and giving the bases an overall more natural and realistic look.
The whole army will have an overall occult and esotheric themed background. These brothers and sisters were left on a forsaken planet. So it was only a matter of time to turn their backs to the emperor of mankind.
Lost powers and rituals lure in many forms in the galaxy. The Scions followed the Oracle.
Dive in this project and follow what’s more to come. I hope you enjoy it.

This is the first post in a row for this project. Full background story, individual unit discriptions, personal thoughts etc. will evolve over the time and find their way on the website.
