Here he is in all his glory. The Chaplain for my Star Claws.

I was a little nervous because it was the first metal miniature since I don’t know, maybe 10 years? But everything went surprisingly good. I actually really enjoyed it and I’ve learned alot during this.
I tried this glow around the head in a Terminator armour for the first time and I’m happy with how it turned out. I also found my recipe for black armour. I was looking for a dull black and the idea I had in mind worked out very well. Of course it’s not the level professional painters achieve but I’m very happy with it. Here’s how I did it:

Black Armour:
1. Basecoat Eshin Grey
2. Abaddon Black / water (1/1)
3. Nuln Oil washes until it’s as dark as you want it
(be patient and let each coat Nuln Oil dry)
4.Edge highlight Eshin Grey
5.Chipping with Leadbelcher & Runefang Steel

On his right shoulder pad I thought about how I can bring in the chapter colours. Instead of doing only the Screamer Pink my other Astartes have on their shoulder pads I went for a diagonal pattern which I already did on my tactical squad captain’s standard, on the Land Raider Crusader and some other things. This is also a nice contrast to the black armour.
Like I said it’s a metal miniature so I couldn’t repose it or do something special. But I think it’s not necessary with this model. It already has an awesome pose in my opinion. Striking and straight forward, ready to bring death to his foes.
