Hello friends,
long time no hear but nevertheless I want to share some thoughts and my current stuff on the workbench.
I’ve finished my Devastators. Finally. It was so much fun with the ‘new’ sprues. I’m going to take better pictures soon. And I’ll write a bigger post for them. But for now this bw picture must do it.

I also finished building this group of battlebrothers. Like for all my other Astartes in this army project I tried to give each one of them an individual look and feel. I’m really excited how they turned out so far and I can’t wait to give them some paint.
Maybe I’ll give them a little special to make them look like a bound-together group of Space Marines. Fighting for each other on and off the battlefield. Maybe a mark on the helmet or on the armour or something. Just a sign to identify themselves as a true brotherhood of five battlebrothers.
In the Horus Heresy Novels there is the Mournival. It was the War Council of Warmaster Horus. Each of the four members had a different phase of the moon imprinted in the helmet above the right eye. Absolutely love this.

The last thing is a little bit unusual. I want to send a big THANK YOU towards the guys from IRON SLEET. This group of people is always a big inspiration and a big motivation for me. I absolutely adore their approach on the Warhammer 40.000 Universe. I love their moody writing and the whole style they do. So please don’t be mad with me if you see some things I adapted.
To build a whole army is sometimes getting tough for me. This is why I had the thought to do it like the IRON SLEET guys and paint more than just one big project. Maybe just an Inquisitor with a retinue or some Necrons or whatever as a side project. Just to build and paint something different other than only the main army scheme. I really like this thought and I will see what I’m going to make out of it.
Cheers, Philipp
